Pay was made dependent on the productivity and often became the same as in a 8-hour day. The pilots were very popular. Obviously because of that, the employer began a strong campaign against the experiments and succeeded in getting the government to ignore the results.<BR/>Employers do want to increase the working hours of the core work force and decrease and split the working time of the more marginal labour.
